Jewellery Care Guide

At Oneofé, we believe beautiful jewellery deserves to be worn and loved — not locked away. With a few simple habits, your pieces will stay as radiant as the day you first chose them.

Gold-Plated Jewellery Care

Our pieces are crafted from 304 stainless steel with 18K gold PVD plating — significantly more durable than standard gold plating. Here’s how to keep them at their best:

Water is the enemy
Unless you want “vintage rust,” keep your jewellery out of the shower, pool, and sink.

Last on, first off
Always put your jewellery on after applying perfumes, lotions, and sunscreens. Allow products to dry completely before wearing. Remove jewellery before washing hands, swimming, or exercising.

Wipe after wearing
At the end of the day, gently wipe your pieces with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture and perspiration — especially important in India’s humid climate.

Store with care
Store each piece individually in its Oneofé pouch or a small airtight container. Keep away from open air, direct sunlight, and other metals to prevent tarnishing and scratching.

Avoid exposure to:

  • Perfumes, hairsprays, and chemical sprays
  • Chlorinated water (pools) and saltwater
  • Harsh cleaning products
  • Extreme heat and direct sunlight

PS: “Anti-Tarnish” refers to a protective coating applied to reduce early oxidation and colour fading. It does NOT guarantee lifetime colour retention.

Freshwater Pearl Jewellery Care

Pearls are organic gems that require gentle handling:

  • Wipe with a soft damp cloth after wearing — never soak or submerge
  • Store flat in a soft pouch, away from harder gemstones that can scratch the surface
  • Apply perfumes and hairsprays before putting on pearl jewellery
  • Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals

General Tips for All Pieces

  • Remove jewellery before sleeping, showering, or any physical activity
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth — never use abrasive materials
  • Keep pieces separated to avoid tangling and scratching
  • If a piece gets wet, dry it immediately and thoroughly before storing

Living in a Humid Climate?
